To learn more about what type and size Compactor you need for your business let’s dig a little deeper.
Self Contained Compactors come in a small range of sizes. The size needed is directly related to how much waste you produce within your business. The average 1.5 yard stationary compactor means; you can put about 1.5 cubic yards of trash in the “charge chamber” that can be pressed into the receiving container. This charge chamber can range from 1 yard to 2 yards.
The receiving box is built into the compactor, meaning self contained. The waste hauler temporarily removes the whole machine and returns the same machine back after emptying it. Also, it is called self contained, because it can hold liquid up to the height of the charge chamber on average.. The size container included with the compactor can range from 15 yards to 39 yards , but 3 and 34 yard container sizes are typical.
Styles of self contained compactors are fairly ranging as well. You can get a front load type, (like a normal dumpster you see in the movies), except this dumpster has a compactor built into it. Depending on your business needs, most self contained compactors are 1.5 yard charge chamber size. .
Most self contained compactors are used through the building and have a chute that allows the waste to glide into the compactor. Most all chute are custom made for each application. The other thing about a chute on a self contained compactor is, because the complete machine leaves with the waste hauler. The chute and dog box section need to be self supported.
Dog boxes are the section that is above the charging chamber on a compactor. The chute usually empties to one side of the charge chamber, and a security door is at the wall that keeps the machine from running while opened. A dog box can also just have a door in it to allow walking up to the compactor to load waste into it.
You are only paying for waste when you own a self contained compactor, and you can change to a different service provider without worrying about machinery. Although, the type of connecting hook may play a role in the service providers availability. The hook capability is how the waste hauler truck connects and pulls the container onto the truck for haul off.
